What we were talking about in contextual studies is why people assume animation is mostly for children. One of the example why animation isn't mostly for children is Betty Boop, it has adult contexts. The character was dressed very provocatively, also the story in Minnie the Moocher the things that were said wasn't appropriate for children ears like 'come here big boy'.
The start of Red hot riding hood was very child like and reminded me of Looney toons. The way the start of the cartoon was performed was cute and childish but not scary, then the story changed and started to get aggresive and sexual. There are some scenes that have been used in other movies like when the wolf was growling, howling and banging on the table was also used in the mask in the same sort of way.
In my opinion animation is for all ages, like for example toy story. The first and second movies were mostly for children but when the animators realised that adults and teenagers enjoyed the movie as well as the children, they decided to change it up a bit in toy story 3. The reason why i believe that toy story 3 is mostly for teenagers and adults than children is because of the fact that buzz starts to speak in Spanish, the bear becomes very dark and sinister and also the characters were about to die, it all became a little too scary and confusing for younger ages.
